One day
Everything is fine. You're normal. You're 17. You go to high school. You've been accepted to college. You've decided what school you're going to. You have friends you love, and who seem to love you. Everything is pretty good.
And the next day
Something happens. Something you regret happening. Something that you could have prevented by only being a little bit smarter. You don't really regret it, because you haven't had time to think about it.
The day after that.
It begins to stir. The pressure begins to build. Not knowing is the worst part. Not knowing what happened or what's going to happen because it it. You do what you can. But you're still not sure.
You're scared. And alone. And no matter what anyone says It never stops
It'll never stop until i know for sure.

Look how the ruts cling to my footsteps the fatal invisible tool by which we define we fight! for our approval and fear our removal from the safety of fools
from the tidal forces of our positions not won not one! to take for granted are our rebel hymns in canted to sing in the mines for the fortunate sons?
So brothers in spirit sisters in rage, will we live out our lives in this concrete cage? another heartbeat lost another police murder buried in the public eyes on the back page. Heartbeats lost in a new world order hobbled and bound but still walking away
I pledge allegiance to the world nothing more, nothing less than my humanity I pledge allegiance to the world searching for vision not invisibility I pledge allegiance to the world searching for vision not invisibility I pledge allegiance to the world until the last law breaks none of us are free...
until the last law breaks none of us are free.
we fight to balance our minds petty powers pushing profits over our lifetimes world leaders mortaging our lives with words I don't need to be reminded of whom you really serve.
Brothers in spirit, sisters in rage, will we live out or lives in this concrete cage? another hearbeat another police murder buried in the public eyes on the back page. Too many heartbeats lost in the new world order while we're standing alone with our backs to the maze
I pledge allegiance to the world nothing more, nothing less than my humanity I pledge allegiance to the world until the last law breaks none of us are free I pledge allegiance to the world until the last law breaks none of us are free I pledge allegiance to the world for nothing more, nothing less
in justice in hunger united searching for vision united in justice in hunger united law and order but for whose order?
I pledge allegiance to the world nothing more, nothing less than my humanity I pledge allegiance to the world until the last law breaks none of us are free I pledge allegiance to the world under no nation will we ever be I pledge allegiance to the world for nothing more, nothing less than my humanity, than my humanity, than my humanity (pledge allegiance) to our humanity, to our humanity, to our humanity (to the world)

I have a friend...who has been my friend for many years, but lives many miles away. This friend and I have been through a lot together. We have watched each other change and grow up, and we have sparked each others interests. You see, this friend and I were very close. We talked every day on line as well as on the phone. We had conversations that only we would understand. We've visited each other despite the great distants that are between where each of us lives. But every time this friend has an interest in a boy, she forgets about me. She doesn't call me, and she doesn't even talk to me on line. She becomes so wrapped up in this guy that nothing else matters. It has happened twice in the past, and it is happening again. Every time she does this, she causes me an immense amount of pain. This is a person I love, someone who i consider my best friend because I can't get close to anyone else because I move every four years. But despite me moving to Boston and then to Houston, she and I remained friends. But now, because of this boy she doesn't even acknowledge me. We talked briefly on line tonight, before she put up an away message and left [Without saying anything, which IRKS ME VERY MUCH.] Why is my friendship so one sided? Does she not care about me at all? Why is she so willing to throw five years of friendship away for three weeks with a guy. Why do I care so much about this person? Why do i allow this all to get to me so deep. Right now, it's killing me inside. This is one of the only people I've gotten close too. She probably knows more about me than my parents...but still she does this to me. Maybe I need to stop letting her do this. Maybe I need to tell her...look..if you're going to do this to me, maybe we shouldn't be friends anymore. But I can't. I can't do that because then who would I have. Is it better to have a friend who hurts you over and over again or not have any friends at all? I really do love her..so much...but she just doesn't understand how much pain she causes me...christ. Why does it have to fucking be like this?

Okay, so I've been quiet about this for quite a while. We get into this debate every day during my AP Government class. I want to know what the problem everyone has with Same-Sex marriages. Yea, okay so homosexuality is a "sin" in the bible. In a country as advanced as America, how can we still make behavior altering laws based on a book that was written a thousand years ago? Personally, I could care less about how religious you are. I'm the only one out of all of you on my friends list who lives in TEXAS, where RELIGION guides everyone's life. I put up with homophobes and racists who hide behind their masks of righteousness on a daily basis. When the framers of the Constitution were setting up the Government they knew that they didn't want their country turning into England. So they gave the citizens certain rights. Freedom of speech, Freedom of Assembly, FREEDOM OF RELIGION. But wait, almost every Religion condemns homosexuality, so now what? Doesn't freedom of religion also extend to those who don't believe in God? Or those who's views are slightly different from their neighbors? This is ridiculous that people are making a big deal out of this. I'm sick and tired how everyone in this world is afraid of something different. Let them get married, it's not going to disrupt your every day life. Most people have their heads shoved so far up their asses they wouldn't notice anyway. Oh fucking well if you think marriage is "sacred" and should be between a man and a woman. Times change. Fucking adapt.EVOLVE
Another thing that really irks me is Bush's flag burning amendment. First of all, yea it's a symbol, but it's a fucking piece of cloth. WHY, i ask you, is the president who should have MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO (ie finding the "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq like he promised us. Bull shit.} is he worried about burning a flag?
...Man it's only February and I'm sick of all this political crap.
I've been thinking a lot about who I was going to vote for when the time comes. I really dislike John Kerry, but i will NOT vote for Shrub. It's really a hard choice.
